Sunday funnies

Alabama has this hilarious fake Southern accent voice that she talks in. She cracks us up.
She copies different people and can sound just like them. She talks like Andy Griffith and says, "I dropped my big orange. Well, I did."

Sometimes at night, she says, "Please don't leave me in this room by myself!" Like there's something wrong with her room! ha!

She is praying for us to have two more babies. A boy and a girl. The other night this was her prayer. "Thank you Lord for my brother Pate. Help Mommy and Daddy to have another baby girl and a baby boy. Help them to have them soon. Amen." ha!

She went to a place where she could go and buy presents for her family. She told me she bought her Papa a picture frame. He's blind.

She wants a real vacuum cleaner and a Barbie that stays in the box for Christmas. She has now added a real kitty to the list. Not gonna happen.

Pate is really the charmer. He talks to people everywhere we go. He loves to play games with you. He likes for you to make funny noises at him and he will just giggle every single time. It never gets old for him! ha!

If you catch him doing something he's not supposed to, and say, Pate!, he will starting running faster to get away from you!

So so thankful

Wanted to catch up and write my post about the things I am so thankful for....and they are many!
The Lord has given us so many blessings, too many to name them all.

A Savior, Jesus.
A husband who is more than I could have ever hoped for.
Two beautiful children, inside and out, Alabama and Pate.
A close family who helps us so.
A home to live in and a car to drive. They may not be fancy, but it's so much more than some have.
Happiness.
A church where we are fed and have the opportunity to serve others.
The freedom to worship in that church and in our home.
More than we deserve.

Day 31: Halloween!

Okay, I'm trying to wrap up those 31 Days of Everyday moments posts I didn't finish! We had a fun Halloween day! We went to BSF in the morning, came home for the afternoon, and then went to see Granny and Aunt Judy in our costumes before heading to the Fall Festival at church. Pate and Alabama dressed as Dorothy and the Lion, Adam was the scarecrow and I was Glenda. We had a fun time playing games, face painting, cake walking, jumping, and hay riding!

Day 28: Homecoming

We had Homecoming at church today! We celebrated 22 years as a church. So thankful to my Pastor and his wife, Mrs. Leila, for answering God's call to start our church and for their faithful service. I feel so blessed to be a part of a Bible-believing church where I know that the Word will be preached and upheld every week, where we have the opportunity to serve, and for the wonderful chruch family that we have.

We had "dinner on the grounds" and so there was no evening service. So this afternoon, Adam and Alabama changed the oil in the tractor and washed it. Pate of course wanted to go outside, too, so I took him out there and he pushed his new four wheeler around and played a while. It was a great relaxing afternoon! I also took a picture of Pate with all his birthday presents and I hope I can post it later!

Day 27: Party Time!

We had Pate's Pumpkin Birthday party today! It was a lot of fun and so cute! I think he had a great day! We had so many of our family here to celebrate with us and that makes it super special! He got a lot of fun BOY toys so he has plenty of cars, tractors, airplanes, trains, blocks, etc. now! Yay for Pate! I made his birthday cake and I think it turned out really cute. It was a pumpkin cake of course and I made him a mini version for his smash cake. We also had chocolate cupcakes and pumpkin shaked rice krispy treats. I love fall and all things pumpkin so it was such a fun party to decorate for! I also made him a birthday shirt with a pumpkin and a 1 on it. It was very easy to make and turned out adorable!

My computer let me upload pictures last week, but seems to have reverted to it's old ways today, so pictures to come!

Day 26: Sibling Love

Day 25: Disney on Ice

Tonight, we went to see Disney on Ice at the James Brown Arena. Alabama has known we were going since last Thursday and was sooooo excited about it. She would randomly tell me "I'm so excited to go to Disney on Ice!" She wanted to dress up like Tinkerbell (instead of a Minnie outfit like I wanted! ha!) so I bought her a new dress, did her hair like Tink, and even put on some shimmer makeup and green eyeshadow! We went with friends and met them at Chick fil A before the show then picked up Adam. She was still excited when we got there, but when we got in the arena, she wanted to sit with me and didn't talk much. When the show started, it was pretty loud and she didn't like it. Then Minnie and Mickey came out and their car backfired and she started crying and saying I want to go home! I tried to calm her with our $10 bag of cotton candy, but it continued to get worse and worse and when Ursula came out, she lost it! I had to take her out in the lobby and she just kept saying, Please don't take me back in that room! Poor thing! I did get her to stand in the back while I held her so she could watch Tinkerbell but we left before it was over. Adam said we weren't going anywhere else until she was 15! ha!

In other news, Pate went to the Doctor today for his 1 year checkup and he weighed 22 lbs 9 oz (47%) and was 29 1/2 inches (41%) and his head is 18 5/8 inches (76%). He had to get four shots and he was not too happy! She said he is doing good!

Day 24: Pate is One!

Pate you are one year old today! Big birthday boy! We had an uneventful day but are so thankful for your life that God has blessed us with! We went to BSF this morning then ran a few errands went home for a little bit and then went to church tonight. When we got home from church, you opened your gifts from Mama and Daddy and from Alabama. We have you a little wooden train set puzzle and Alabama gave you were Ernie and a baseball from her playroom. She gave you those because she thought you would like them and because she still wanted them and Daddy told her she shouldn't just give something she didn't want anymore because that wasn't a sacrifice. So sweet! You are the sweetest little boy and oh so cute! You look a lot like me when I was a baby! We have the same cheeks and chin for sure! You are so much fun and are always looking for something to get into! You love cars and trucks and tractors. You love to throw balls. You want to ride outside on anything you can with Daddy. You like to sing and dance to music and you pat boths hands on your belly. So funny! Your hair is a hot mess and so long and crazy! You wear size 12 month clothes, size 4 shoe and size 4 diaper. You can sign more, eat, bottle, drive, bye, bath, and blow kisses. You are a full time walker and hardly ever crawl now. You say sounds all the time like "uh" and "buh" but really only say "dada" and "bye" sometimes. Everyone in nursery loves you so much and say what a good, good, baby you are. You like to climb up on everything and stand in chairs, though. Such a daredevil! You like to do flips in my lap. You always want to get down and go, you never sit still long! You will sometimes cuddle with me for a minute and love to attack me and give hugs! ha! You are so funny and love to make silly faces and play funny games! You point at things all the time. You are somewhat of a picky eater. You love to eat yogurt. That's probably your favorite. You will NOT  eat green beans! You like to eat most of the things we eat but if you don't like something you spit it right back out or throw it on the floor. You like to eat the baby food pouches by yourself.  You are only nursing a couple of times a day now and are taking a bottle the rest of the time.
You love your sister and love to wake her up in the morning. She loves you, too, and is a great big sissy! She is a great helper! She thought that you were going to be so different this morning! When I was waking her up to get ready, I said, remember, it's Pate's birthday! She was so excited and said "I bet he's going to be a big boy now! I bet he can talk!" ha! She was disappointed when she saw you and said, "Mama, he's still a baby!"  hahaha!
I can't believe how much you have grown in this year and I can't believe how fast it went by. It seems like just the other day we were in the cafeteria eating strawberries waiting to check in the hospital to have you! It makes my heart hurt to think about how fast it went by. I'm so thankful for a happy, healthy baby! We love you so much and you bring such joy to our family! We couldn't imagine it without you, PayPay Brown!

Day 23:Sleeping Beauty

A rare daytime nap for Bama!

Day 22: A Visit with Granny

We went to visit my Granny today (we try to go at least once a week) and we had a fun time! I actually got Granny to come outside and sit to watch the kids find acorns. Pate loved picking them up and throwing them. My aunt has 5 or 6 planters that now just have dirt in them on the porch so he had a ball playing in the dirt and throwing it out! He had dirt everywhere! Alabama had Granny be the teacher and call the kids to come inside and then she was the mama to drive them around!

Day 21: 4

Pate has four teeth now! I think the top right tooth came through on Thursday or Friday. He grits his teeth together and makes me crazy! So funny how teeth begin to change his look.

Day 20: babies

On the way to Sparklers practice this morning, Alabama asked Adam if there were some Daddy's who liked to have more babies. He hold her yes I'm sure there are. After a long pause she wistfully said "i wish I had one of those Daddy's!" haha!!!

Day 19: Name

Alabama is doing so great at writing her name and I thought I'd show you a sample! She also wrote Mama and Daddy on the back. She can spell by herself: Alabama, georgia, Thomson, fox, Mama.

Day 18:

We got to go see Anna perform in the Harlem band at the football game tonight. She did great and it was so fun to see everybody at the game. We got to sit right in front of the cheerleaders so Bama loved it! An added bonus was that they were playing Josey: the Sonic Boom of the South! Ha!

Day 17: Daddy or Ryan's?

Alabama told my mama on Tuesday that she couldn't go eat with her on Wednesday because she was going to eat with Daddy after Bible Study because she liked him better! Ha! So after BSF I asked her again and suggested maybe she'd want to go with Mimi since she was about to leave to go to Atlanta so she agreed. When I asked where she wanted to go she of course said Ryan's. I told her no, I don't like Ryan's. She replied, "but you like steak. I was thinking about having steak!" that girl's got an answer for everything. Ha! ( btw: Mimi couldn't go so we ended up w/Daddy after all!)

Day 16: sweet times

I'm going to miss these sweet times with my PayPay as these days of nursing are coming to an end. Love this boy!

Day 15: pillowcase and party

Today we went to eat breakfast at McD with our friends to celebrate Annalise's 4th birthday! Alabama and Pate had a fun time playing! Then I had a pillow saw dress making night at church. About eight ladies came to learn to make dresses and several others came to help see. It was a great success and everyone's dress came out so cute! We are planning to make Christmas stockings and then bow ties next! Here is a new friend Sohailla and her mil with their dresses.

Day 14: serving others

We had a great opportunity to give some encouragement and show thanks to our local fire stations, EMS workers, and police at church on Sunday. We bagged cookies and wrote a note that we attached to each one while the children made giant cards to take to each station. It was a lot if fun! Then we delivered the cookies. Adam and I took them to the Appling sheriffs department and the fire station on Clary cut. I'm so thankful to be a part if such a loving church!

Day 13: farm day

We had quite a busy day on Saturday! Alabama and Pate are so happy to have Adam home on Saturdays! She starts asking about it on Monday! Ha! He cooked breakfast and then I left to take her to Sparklers. When I got back to the house, there were emergency vehicles everywhere! A deer hit a jeep in front of the house and went through the front windshield and out the back windshield! Crazy! We went to pick her up and then went straight to Steeds Dairy. Maxine had two tickets for us so even though we didn't have much time we wanted to go. They had a great time. We went to see the animals, went to the pumpkin patch, Watched them milk a cow, went down the big slide, jumped on the jumping pillow, rode the train, got her face painted, and played on the wooden trucks and castle! It was a great time! We had to leave to get home and get ready to go to the marriage conference we had at church that afternoon. It was very good and glad it all went smoothly and everyone had a great time. Then, on the way home Adam got pulled over to ask if he'd been drinking. Fun times. Ha.

Day 12

Friday we set up for the marriage conference at the church then joined our friends for lunch at CFA. Thankful for great friends and a great church!

Day 11: Princess play

When Alabama is playing princesses, she says they are going to the "ball game" but she means the "ball" like a dance! Haha! I took this picture of her playing and notice Pate coming to destroy her set up of ring around the roses! Ha!

Day 10: He's Everywhere!

Have I mentioned Pate is into everything? Well, he is!

Tuesday, October 9, 2012

Day 9: school days

We are learning about farms this week and will be going to visit Steeds Dairy Farm on Saturday. So today we learned about dairy farms and made butter! Here is Alabama taking her turn shaking! It's really easy--just add some heavy whipping cream to a glass jar, screw on the top and shake! When it forms to almost a solid, add some salt and enjoy!!!

Monday, October 8, 2012

Day 8: Temper Tantrums

You have never seen a temper tantrm until you have seen one from Pate Smelts! Nothing Alabama has ever done even compares to this boy! ha! Every single day when Adam gets home, or tonight, when Pate woke up and discovered Adam was home, he wants to go outside with him and ride the golf cart that Adam is working on. He waves his arms like he's driving and points towards the door and says "Uh" and gets so excited. If you don't get him out there right away, he goes crazy! He will scream and cry and roll around on the floor flinging himself every which way. I've got to get it on video. There is nothing you can do to calm him except get the boy on something that moves! How can he be so so so opinionated at 11 months? How can he love things that go so much at 11 months? I don't understand it! As soon as you head for the door he's all smiles. :) Tonight, the tire was flat on the golf cart, so Adam had to ride him around on the tractor. I think we have a problem on our hands! (This picture was actually taken on Labor Day and I think he has been in love with the tractor since then!)

Day 7: Sunday Funday!

We had a great Sunday this weekend. I worked in the nursery at church because there were several out if town this weekend. We had a fun class in the 1s with only three there. After church we met my sister Audra at Cracker Barrel to eat and that's where I took these pics of my sweet ones. I love them so much! Alabama didn't feel good or maybe has been tired lately but she's just been whiny and wanted to sit in my lap the entire time. We went to look for a couple things at Academy after lunch (which they didn't have) but I did find a Duck Dynasty shirt! Yay! Both babies fell asleep on the way home and slept until it was time to go back to church and then all the way to church! Ha! After the evening service we went to Shane's with the Pritchard's which is always a fun time!

Day 6: Little Mama

Ooops! I got a few days behind but I'm catching up today! Alabama thinks she is such a little mama to Pate. She tells him things like: "Pate, Mama told you to get down 3 times" when he falls off a chair. (Have a little compassion, girl! ha!) or Sunday, when he woke up he had a booger. She would not let it go that he didn't want her to get it off his nose for him. She kept saying, "Hold still, Pate. I'm getting this booger for you. Just a minute." I was laughing so hard and Adam was jut shaking his head. I looked over and she had him in a head lock getting it out! hahaha! Adam said, "This is what you've got to look forward to, Pate."

Day 5: Sleepover

Alabama is spending the night at her Grandmas for the first time tonight! She was so excited and wanted to stay! I am just hoping we don't have to make a trip back to Augusta to pick her up! When we left she was eating a PB&J and had plans for ice cream layer. Ha!

Thursday, October 4, 2012

Day 4: Party at the Park!

We spent the day at home today cleaning out Alabama's closet that is also where the gift wrap/bags are stored. Love that feeling of accomplishment when utter chaos is transformed! Tonight, Alabama had a birthday party to go to so we left Pate at home with Adam and went to the park! She was glad to get to go because she's had a stomach bug the past few days but thankfully it's gone! Here's a picture of Alabama with the birthday girl and another friend in her class at church. So thankful for our wonderful friends to share life with!

Day 3: Pate the Walker

Pate has been walking so much!!! He took his first steps a few weeks ago and has been walking more and more lately. Right now he still crawls more than he walks but I know it won't be long. Here is a picture of him walking and using Alabama's baton as a cane! Ha!

Day 2: It's Fall Y'all!

It's Day 2 of my 31 Day Series: Everyday Moments! Today I put out our fall decorations! It's my favorite season and I've been so looking forward to getting out all the pumpkins! Here are a few pictures of our home all ready for fall. Alabama wanted to make sure I took a picture of her kitchen so it's here, too!

31 Days of Everyday Moments

I'm joining in with The Nester to write about a topic for the 31 days of October. Since my blog is to capture our family memories, and sometimes I don't do a very good job of that, I thought it would be great to be purposeful in writing about our memories...everyday! So my series will be called 31 Days of Everyday Moments. Some days it may be a funny quote from Alabama, or some days it may be a fun time we had together, or a first for Pate. I'm excited and can't wait to see what October holds for us!

We were riding to Aiken on Saturday to pick up a birthday present for my Mama (long story!) and I said, "I'm hungry." Alabama quickly responded, "Me, too, girl!" ha!

11 Months

Pate, you are eleven months old now! Wow, in just one short little month you'll be a year old! How did this happen??? I feel like you are doing so many new things now! I love this age so much! This month, you got your first haircut...Nana trimmed your bangs on labor day, you took your first steps....now you will take 6-7 at a time!, you said Mama (finally!), are consistently signing "more" ,"bye" and "Hey", and sometimes "eat". You also blow kisses and it's the most precious thing ever!
Your favorite foods are bananas, yogurt, strawberries, cantaloupe, and carrots. You used to love english peas but now won't eat them. You will never eat green beans and are starting to be pretty picky about your food. If you don't want to eat something, you will throw it in the floor or your high chair piece by piece. Sneaky boy.
You love your Daddy and get so excited when he comes home. You especially love to go outside and ride on the tractor or the golf cart with him. If you see it, you will do this sign that means you want to ride!!!! You have the best time riding and do not want to get off.
You love your Sissy, too. You can't wait for her to get  up in the morning, and love to play with her in her play room. You usually play really well together, until she takes something you want. She is so good with you most of the time but she loves to pick you up. She talks to you and takes great care of you. She says stuff like this: "Hey, Buddy!" "No, Pate. No, sir. You can't put that in your mouth.", "It's okay, Pate. We're almost home.". It's so cute! ha!
You wear size 12 month clothes and size 3- 4 shoe. You also wear a size 4 diaper.
You are so sweet and friendly. You love to make contact with people and just smile and talk to them! Everyone says you are such a happy and good baby and you really are! You are so cute, I could just eat you up! You have the cutest little face and sweet cheeks and beautiful eyes and eyelashes! You love to hide and think it's the funnest thing to play "Where's Pate?"! You have a new laugh that sounds a lot like mine. So funny.
You have two teeth on the bottom and are working on the top left tooth now. You are still into everything all the time. At granny's house, you try to get all the breakable things and everything else that isn't your toys. You played in the pool at a friend's house last week and loved it! You love to play with the ball and throw it and catch it. You like to climb in chairs (and stand in them!). You also love stairs and can get up them so so fast. You haven't quite mastered coming down yet. You love music and dance to it sometimes. Sometimes you talk nonstop and other days don't say a whole lot. You go to bed at 8 and sleep until 8 or 9 but still get up at least once to nurse. You do great in the nursery at church and now we go to BSF once a week and they say you are great there, too! I'm so glad! You are such a joy and it's such a priviledge to be your Mama! I love you so so much and am so happy you are mine! I thank God for you and pray that you will grow to love Him and serve Him all the days of your life!

Friday, August 31, 2012

on the last day of August....

1. I'm so thankful for a specific answered prayer today! I noticed a little issue Pate had last night that could have been something big. I prayed over it all night and this morning that it would be nothing and when I took him to the doctor this afternoon, she easily fixed it! Praise the Lord!

2. I love that it is getting close to fall! It's not so much the weather, but just the "look" there is outside now. I'm not sure how to explain it, but the sun maybe? just looks like perfect, beautiful, weather! It makes me happy!

3. Alabama is so hilarious! The other morning, she came to wake me up as usual. She said, "Get up Mama!" (I'm sure she wanted some fruit snacks or something.) I told her that I think I slept on my back wrong because it was hurting me. Then I hear her mumble, "I don't have no time for this!" hahaha! I would say where does she get this stuff, but I know exactly where--my sister Audra Kate!

4. I finally ordered Pate's 6 month pictures and our family pictures we took then with money I got for my birthday and I can't wait to get them in!

5. I love having a gift card to Starbucks in my wallet! It makes it taste so much better when it didn't cost "money!"

6. I made a fun "toy" for Pate yesterday! I cut up some ugly fabric I had into rectangles and put them into an empty tissue box. He loves taking them all out and putting them back into the box!

7. Alabama starts "Sparklers" tomorrow! She is so so so excited. She knew that after my birthday it would start so she has been counting down! I'm going to be a "Sparkle" tomorrow she says!!!

8. Did you know that a spoon full of sugar cures hiccups??? Me either, but it works! I learned it on the latest episode of 19 Kids and Counting!

9. Our dryer has been broken for a few weeks now and I am more than ready to get a new one! It's no fun not being caught up on the laundry.

10. Alabama and I start preschool at home next week! I'm super excited. I hope it goes well and will keep the blog updated with some of the things we do.

Have a great weekend!!!!

Ten Months!

Pate, you are 10 months old now! Wow, Double digits! ha! You are the cutest boy ever and I could just eat you up every day! I love those sweet lips, and those chunky thighs, and that cute nose, and those beautiful eyelashes, and those few rare moments when you lay your head on my shoulder and love on me....
You are totally 100% into everything all day long. You can find any little thing you're not supposed to have and put it in your mouth. Today:a back to an earring, a piece of a stick from a basket, a tiny rock, and a puple pom-pom. . You stand up and walk around all the furniture and will let go if you are distracted and play with something in your hands. You climb up in the little chairs and STAND UP IN THEM! You have no fear. I feel like Alabama and I say, "No, Pate" about one hundred times a day. She is a great sister and loves you so much and helps me a lot to keep an eye on you.
You love balls and I sit in the floor and we throw it back and forth to each other and you will do it for 15 minutes at a time and never get tired of it! Actually, you love to throw everything down, not just balls, to see what it will do, I think.  You went to your first THS football game and had a great time! You loved to dance with the band and clap for the team! You love music and it looks like you are directing a band or something with the arm motions you do when music comes on. ha! Sometimes you'll do those fake coughs back and forth with us. So funny. You hold the phone and I say, "Say hello!" and you will say something and hold it up to your ear but your hand is folded the wrong way. It's just like Alabama did it. Love it.
You have a little separation anxiety beginning I think. You were fussy in the nursery on Sunday but were fine when I was there. Little stinker.
You are very vocal sometimes and other times don't say anything. You say Da-da all day long but still won't say Mama or Bama. You did the "more" sign today.
You go to sleep so good but still wake up during the night to nurse. You take two naps a day of varying lengths.
You are using the pincher grasp to pick up small foods now! Mealtimes are a big mess. You wipe food all over you and your hair....(sigh). I'm not sure about your foods you like right now. You don't want to eat a lot of the baby foods you ate before, but also don't want a lot of the table foods I offer, either. Still love yogurt the most! You also love to eat bananas cut up. You tried spaghetti for the first time this week. You liked it and wanted more but didn't chew it well. You make the funniest faces when you don't like something. It's like a kissy face! ha!
You weigh 21 lbs 12 oz.
Your hair is a hot mess. It's so long and it's in your face all day long!
I am so happy that you're mine and am so thankful for you!
I love you forever, I'll like you for always. As long as I'm living, my baby, you'll be!

The Big 3-0!

I turned 30 yesterday and it really wasn't as bad as I thought it may be. It does sound old to me, but I think i'll use the word "grown-up" instead. I asked the guys in the Praise band if they thought I seemed 30 and they said you have kids so you're already old. Okay. You're right.
We had a very low key day around here. Slept in, woke up to a birthday message in cheese toast my husband left me, opened a birthday card from him with some $$$!, played a little Candy Land, ate our leftover Red Robin birthday burger for lunch, played in the "new" playroom, washed a couple loads of clothes, got lots of sweet phone calls and messages, made brownies with Bama, did a little cleaning out, surprised by Adam when he came home early, then a trip to Hobby Lobby, and supper at Logan's with my family! Yee-ha!
My sweet sister-in-law, Georgia, had a birthday dinner for me on Saturday night. She gave me three plates from 1982. So thoughtful! We had a great time being with them.
The best birthday moment was definitely last night when I was laying down with Alabama.
A: I love you, Mommy. Me:I love you, too, Bama. A:I'm so glad it's your birthday. Me: Thank you, sweetie.
I'm thankful for another wonderful year that the Lord has blessed me with!

Nine months!

Pate, you are nine months old now! You are such a joy! I absolutely LOVE this age! You are old enough to interact more and more and it's so much fun.  You have learned so many things lately. You can clap, you can "praise the Lord" by raising both hands, you have created your own sign for milk by smacking your lips! We are working on other signs, too. You love anything with wheels and all balls. You will chase your green ball all around the room.  You weigh about 23 pounds. You wear a size 4 diaper and size 12 month clothes mostly. You are standing up all the time and holding on to cruise down the couch and around the furniture. You have a little trick to get around really quick...you find something to slide along the floor with your hands so you don't even have to lift them to crawl....so funny. Your hair is super long! Someone at CVS said you look like Bubba Watson the other day. It is a hot mess most of the time! ha! You have gotten in one tooth on the bottom left and the other on the bottom is about to come through. You've done a little bit better the past two weeks getting up at night. You will sleep until about 4-4:30 now and then go back to sleep until 8 or 9 so I think that's good. You love your sissy so so much and get just so excited when we got to wake her up in the morning! You will say "da da" sometimes and sometimes "bye" but that's about it. You are into absolutely e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g!!!!!! I have to watch you all the time to make sure you don't find something and get it in your mouth. And you are so so fast! You've started to throw a little fit when we do something you don't want to do like change your diaper or get you dressed or get in the car seat or take away something you can't have. You will arch your back and cry. Not sweet, Pate. You are eating good again. You had a sore throat virus this month but are back to normal now. You are eating little pieces of banana, plums, bread, green beans, rice plus all the baby foods and breastmilk. I love you so much and am so blessed to be your Mama! (Starting to plan your 1st birthday, too!)

Alabama Tour Guide

Alabama has grown so much lately I feel like. I don't know if it's because I see her with Pate now or the fact that she has literally grown like 6 inches since January and her hair is so super long and she wears size 4 clothes now!
She has so many different names that she makes up for us and her baby dolls every day. I wish I could remember them all....I'll try to write them down! It can be as random as whatever she is looking at (Microwave!) or lots of times we just go by "Sister." She told my Granny today that she is going to have two sisters and she wants to name them Ashley and Button. (I really like Button!) So we decided to name the giant, life-size porcelain doll that sits on my Granny's couch Ashley. I guess she gets the name thing honest, I wanted my sister to be named Alicia Putty. Too bad Mama and Daddy decided on Alicia Katherine. Putty has a much better ring to it.
Her favorite show in the world is now Duck Dynasty. She especially loves the "one with the little girls".
She ends up in our room almost every night. She has a semi-permanent "pallett" in the floor.
She crossed a huge hurdle in her life and petted my mother in law's dog, Lucy, on Sunday. Major.
I don't see eating at a Hibachi Japanese restaurant any time in our forseeable future. Fire and Alabama....not the best of friends.
She was pretending to be Jenna the other day and it's so cute when she calls you "Sweetheart." As in, "Now, sweetheart, it's going to be okay." "Come here sweetheart." It's so funny the little things she picks up on.
She calls yogurt "yo-gret" and regular is "reg-a-lee".
She prays the sweetest prayers. The other week she prayed this funny one: "Thank you Lord for this good day. Help this food taste yummy. Amen. "
Love her!

Pate Update (ha!)

Pate's had a lot of "firsts" lately. He finally got his first tooth last week! He also had his first ear infection and now a sore throat. (boo!) He climbed the stairs at church on Wednesday and was soo fast and good at it! He learned to clap this week and it's so cute! He's just the sweetest little boy ever and I could just eat him up!

Fathers day

The kids and I made a fun card for Adam for Fathers day. I took their pictures and then added words to the chalk boards in picassa that said "We love you more than Duck Dynasty" "or the Georgia Bulldogs!" He loved it! We had a relaxing day at home and picked up Maryland fried chicken for lunch with a whole pint of their amazing sweet potato casserole! Yummy! I'm thankful for my wonderful Daddy and for my "baby daddy"! Ha!
