8 months

Alabama turned 8 months old on Monday!

Here are some things you are doing now, sweet girl!
You are pulling up on EVERYTHING!!! You don't sit for long, you pull up on the couch, the exersaucer, the bed, people, chairs, baskets....the list goes on!
Daddy "taught" you how to stand up in the bed, so we've got to lower it now!!!

I come in and find you standing up many times when you're supposed to be sleeping! ha!
You wave "hey" and "bye" a lot now.

You can easily get back to sitting from crawling. You mostly do the army crawl still...and are very fast! ha! Sometimes you'll take a few steps on your hands and knees.
You love to sing and clap and love it when we say "Yay, Alabama!"
You wear 6 months clothes. The 3-6 months are a little snug, but the 6-9 are still kind of big! I can't wait for you to wear all you new fall clothes!
You eat all kinds of baby food. You also eat mashed up pieces of banana, the Gerber "puffs", and the corn snacks that look like cheese puffs. Yummy! You love eating those snacks that you can feed yourself. We are still nursing and also supplementing with bottles of formula when I'm gone.
Last weekend, you got your ears pierced! I didn't want to take you, so Uncle Bo and Aunt Kathie did! They said you only cried for a minute, and now you're a complete gypsy baby! haha!
You also spent the night with them for the first time on Saturday. Everyone at church missed you so! They said you did great (and so did I!) but you didn't sleep a lot so were pretty fussy when you got back! (I think you really missed us a lot! but Bo says you were fussy because you missed him!)
You get into everything and must have your hands on something at all times! You still love to play with paper and most things still go right to your mouth.

I have to keep everything out of the way because you're a plunder box like your mama!
We get stopped everywhere we go. People randomly stop us every single day to say what a beautiful baby you are! As Aunt Katie says, "You so pretty, like mo-del, cheerleader...something pretty!" (with a vietnamese accent!)
You're still a Mama's Girl through and through! You are still working on those teeth....hopefully you'll have some by the time you need to chew! ha!
And of course, you're still the sweetest girl in the whole wide world! I love you more than I ever thought possible!

A baby giraffe comes to church!

I bought this cute set from Gymboree on ebay and it was finally cold enough last Sunday morning to wear it to church.

Everyone at church just loved it!!! They wanted to take pictures themselves so I told the nursery workers I would bring them one! My little pink and brown giraffe! Love her!

Flower Child

My beautiful flower child!!

I don't think it's too over the top....well, maybe a little...but I love it!

The flower bows are so easy to make (well, my version is anyway!). I just cut off the stem of a daisy I bought at Wal-Mart then hot glued it to a hair clip and "Voila!" Instant flower power! ha!

We call this her old lady face! She does this all the time and it looks like an old lady with no teeth! ha!

Kackleberry Farm

After church on Sunday, we went to Kackleberry Farm (http://www.kackleberryfarm.com/ ) with Georgia, Chris, Anna, Morgan and Ethan. It was such a cute place! The main attraction is a corn maze but there are many other things on the property to do. They have a pumpkin patch, a corn cannon, a zip line, a "bucking bronco", a petting farm, a nice swing set, a little pig race, a giant "pillow" jump, a cow train, and a hayride to name a few. Although it was very hot and the gnats almost carried us away, we had a fun time! I would like to go again when it is a lot cooler and feels more like fall. We may do that for Bo's birthday in November. We'll see!

As you can see, there were many picture taking opportunities! Pretty good backdrops for your fall pictures!Although, it was kind of hard to get a good picture (see below! ha!)becuase we were constantly waving the gnats away from our face! Soo irritating!
After we got home and put Alabama to bed, we roasted marshmellows and made s'mores in the "fire pit" that Adam made! It was a fun Sunday!

If you're Happy and You Know It....

We've been singing this song to Alabama for a while now but in the past 5 days, she started clapping along!!! It is the cutest thing ever! She will clap her hands when you do (not always in time! ha). I love it. She is so smart!

7 months old

On September 26, Alabama turned 7 months old!!! She's getting so big and seems to be doing something new every day!

At 7 months, here are some things that you do, Alabama, the Supermodel!

You started to say dadadada...I don't think you know what it means, but Daddy thinks you're calling him! In the past two days, you've been reaching for me and saying mmmmmmaaammamama. I'm so excited!!

You love to watch other kids and are so fascinated by other babies! We saw Lauren and Anita in WalMart the other week and you went CRAZY trying to get to her! You were screaming with excitement and wanted to touch her and love on her! It was so cute! You also love to play with Jenna and get her hair!

You are getting around everywhere and into everything!!!!! Really! I have to keep an eye on you because you are all over the place..doing your army crawl everywhere you want to go! You of course still put EVERYTHING in your mouth, so I have to be careful and watch what is on the floor! You can safely get onto your belly from sitting without toppling over. You can almost sit back up, but not quite yet. You have pulled up on the exersaucer one time from the floor, but haven't quite mastered it on a consistent basis. I'm waiting on you to pull up in the crib, but it hasn't happened yet thank the Lord!
You've been trying lots of new baby foods. You've eaten apricots, chicken and apples, turkey and rice, mixed fruits, cherries and apples, prunes, peach cobbler, and maybe a few others, too. I also gave you a little taste of cake and of course you loved it! You didn't like the sweet potatoes at Ivery's, though! You love to drink water I give you with a straw. You still love to eat your MumMums, but now you bite off big chunks and chew them in your mouth. It's so funny to watch you eat!
You were sleeping so good for a while, but have been waking up every night for the past couple months. I thought maybe you were hungry because of a growth spurt, but I'm not sure what it is! I hope we can get the sleeping schedule back on track! But, it's still good. After you eat in the morning between 5-7, you always go back to sleep until 8 or 9:30!
There are still no teeth peeking through, but I keep checking because I'm sure they are gonna come in any day! As much as you love to chew on everything...it won't be long! We love you soo much! I'm so glad to be your Mama!!!! I just can't get enough of you!
