Pate at 2 months

Pate, you are two months old now! You turned two months old on Christmas Eve so we had a busy day! I took your picture that morning to make sure I got it! You just get cuter and cuter and sweeter and sweeter every day! You so so handsome and everyone stops to tell me not only how much hair you have, but how cute you are, too! Everyone at church just loves you and goes on and on about how sweet and cute you are! You have turned into such a good baby! You are content to be on your own a lot of the time. You love to ride in the car, but still hate red lights! ha! You smile at talk to us all the time. I just love it! You also smile at other family members and even strangers! Mr. Social!
You like to swing in your swing a lot. Here is Alabama swinging her baby with you! What you have to look forward to with her for a big sister...wow! She loves you so much and talks to you a lot now. It's so cute to hear her saying the things that I say to you. She will say, "He's so handsome, isn't he Mama!" ha!
You also like to play on your play mat on the floor for a while. You will stay on it about 20 minutes at a time. You got a new one for Christmas and I think you will like it even more! If we are holding you, you like to sit up ALL the time! You do not like to lay down at all. Just like Bama. You hold your head up so good on your own and act much older than 2 months!
You are now eating about every 3 hours! PTL! At night, you get up about one time to eat and then again about 6 or 7 then sleep until about 9! Much better than that every 2 hour mess! ha! You wear a size 2 diaper and wear size 3 month clothes and some 3-6 month, too. You are a BIG boy! ha! You weigh at least 14 pounds but we don't go in for your checkup until next week. You look like such a little man but at the same time still look like Alabama did as a baby! I love it!
I love dressing you up in cute outfits when we go out! I admit it's not quite as fun as a girl, but it's still a lot more fun than I expected with a boy! Oh, you started staying in the nursery at church and you always do great!
We are so thankful for you! You are a blessing to our family and we love you sooo much!
Love, Mommy and Daddy

Catch up and Funny stuff!

So I played catch up on my blog tonight! I had to get it done. I love blogging, but once I get behind, I fee like I can't write anything before I catch up with what I've missed. So anyway, it's not as great as if I'd written it all as it happened, but it's good enough! :-) I still have a few more things I may do a post about, we'll see.

Alabama cracks me up every single day! She is just so funny but she does not like you to laugh at her. It's really hard not to!
-Her new saying as of last week is "Guess what!" Everything starts with guess what. ha!
-There's a cat that started hanging around our house and will sit on our front steps and meow at us. Bama is very scared of it and wants the door closed at all times so the cat can't see her and she can't see the cat. Finally after several days of being scared of the cat, Adam told her that the cat was not going to hurt her. If it hurt her, he would shoot it with the shot gun. While she was driving with my sisters, she told them. "If that cat bites me, my Daddy will "shoo" it with that gun shot." ha!!
-She still remebers every little thing that happens with exact detail! Her retelling events and details of the events that happened as she remembers them is so funny.
- She doesn't quite pronounce her "th" and "s" correctly when she talks. It's cute. It sounds like this. "Well, I sink (think) he wants his passy." or from the turkey song.."they lept (slept) all night in the tree."
- I told her after we got home from having Pate that It seems like she gained 30 pounds while we were gone. She seems like such a big girl now and not my baby anymore. One day I told her, "Alabama, I don't want you to grow up anymore. I want you to stay little forever, okay?" She gets her super serious look on her face and whiny voice and  tells me, "But my Daddy said I can!"

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

My Christmas sweeties before we went to the Thomson parade Sunday!

Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving from these three Turkeys!!!

Alabama had a Thanksgiving party at school where her class were turkeys. They sang a song and she's been singing it ever since. It's soo cute!

Ten fat turkeys are we.
We slept all night in the tree.
When the cook came around, we couldn't be found.
So that's why we're here you see!

One Month

Here is the one month post for Pate! You turned one month old on November 24th...Thanksgiving! We are so very thankful for you! You are getting to be such a little chunk! And oh so handsome!!!
At your two week appointment, you already weighed 9 pounds 2 ounces and were 21 1/2 inches long. The day before you were 1 month, you weighed 11 pounds!!!! It really is no surprise since you LOVE to eat! You are still eating about every 2 hours...even at night! Sometimes you will go three and a half but that's it. You wear mostly 0-3 months clothes now and a size 1 diaper.

Here are the newborn pictures I took. These are a couple of my favorites!
Everywhere we go, people stop and comment on how beautiful you are and how much dark hair you have!
You sister, Alabama, loves you so much! She wants to kiss and hold you all the time. She loves to make you clap and wave at me. She always comes to tell me Pate's crying. We just have to watch her to make sure she doesn't try to pick you up! Really the only time she is jealous is when Mimi or someone comes over and they are holding you. She will tell them to put you in the swing so they can come and play with her! ha!
This is a picture of your first bath. You hated it. Actually you hated the first several baths. Just now you have gotten a little better with it. When you were screaming at the top of your lungs in this picture, Alabama was in the living room saying, "I don't like that noise."
This month you went on your first trip. We went with Papa and Aunt Judy to Greenwood to visit and Aunt Ann and Uncle Phillip.
You did a lot of new things this month. You went to church and stayed in service with us. The first time you went was the evening service on the 30th. The first place you went out was actually to Target after your first check-up on Friday the 28th. You slept through all of it! We went to a family reunion in Gibson and we even went to the fair!

At first, you were a very fussy little baby, but you seem to have gotten happier in the last two weeks or so. I'm so very glad!!!! :-) It's funny to see the differences in you and Alabama.

Here is a picture of your first bath with Alabama. She was so excited!

It's been an adjustment having a new baby but I am so thankful for you and for a healthy baby! We love you, Pate!
Love, Mommy and Daddy

Happy Halloween!

Pate and Alabama were a Georgia cheerleader (of course!) and a UGA football player for Halloween this year! Here are a few pictures of them!

This is the "cheerleading" before she went to school on the Thursday before Halloween. They had a party at school and got to dress up. Adam was off that week since we'd just had Pate on Monday so he got to go to the party with her!

Usry Pate Smelts is here!

Our sweet baby boy was born last Monday, October 25th at 7:47 am! Here's the story of his birth. We got all the last minute things done (like baking and decorating cookies, packing, and Georgia coming to pick up Alabama) and headed to the hospital on Sunday night to be induced. We were supposed to be there at 6 but, of course, like last time, they told us to go eat and come back at 7. So we went downstairs to the "grill" and since it was Sunday...Chick fil A is closed...boo. At the time, I didn't really feel like eating a lot because I was having some contractions already so I just had some strawberries.

When we got back upstairs, they took us to our room and got everything set up to start the cervadil. They monitor was showing the contractions I was having, but they weren't too painful yet. Our nurse's name was Olivia and she was very sweet. They put in the cervadil and I took an ambien to go to sleep to rest for the big day tomorrow...or so I thought! The contractions got worse all night long and it is all a big blur to me as to what happened when. They also gave me demoroll for pain and I think that with the ambien made me c.r.a.z.y! I told them that I was feeling a lot of pressure and pain and the charge nurse told me I had to wait for Dr. Serrano to come check me before I got an epidural. Long story short....I never saw an epidural! It went a lot faster than anyone thought it would and he was born at 7:47 am. None of our family was at the hospital because Adam didn't have time to call before the baby was here! After he was born, I basically passed out and Adam called everyone to tell them to come while he held the baby. I finally came out of the daze I was in and got to hold him and nurse him while we waited.I couldn't believe how much he looked like Alabama!

We wanted to make sure Alabama was there before Adam took him to the nursery so she could see everything and so there would be someone to take pictures! We stayed in recovery probably close to two hours.
Here is Alabama seeing her brother for the first time!
They took him to the nursery and gave him a bath and weighed him and got him ready to come back to our room. Here he is on the scale weighing 8 pounds 2 ounces. He was also 21 inches long. Alabama was only 6 pounds 14 ounces but was 21 1/2 inches long.
After we moved to the other room, Alabama came in first to see us and to meet Pate. She brought her little stuffed duck that she picked out to give him. She also got her "big sister" present. She got some Big Sis pajamas, zebra pajamas, tinkerbell notebook, princess coloring set, and some stickers!
Here is the first picture of our little family of four!!!

We had lots of friends and family come and visit us while we were in the hospital!
I think they came to see us, but maybe it was just for the UPS cookies! haha!
Adam and I feel very blessed to have two healthy children who are also absolutely beautiful!!!!

Go Dawgs!

Alabama is slightly obsessed with football (or actually just the cheerleading part) right now! We have game day every day at our house! She gets her pompoms and cheers and dances and wants you to cheer with her for the Go Dawgs (not Bulldogs!ha!). She also usually calls herself Jacey while she is a cheerleader (I mean cheerleading...that's what she calls the person and the act!) or sometimes Jacey will be there with us and we watch Jacey and clap for her. It's all a big mystery who Alabama is each day! (BTW..I have NO idea where she got the name Jacey!ha!) We went to the border bash to see the "cheerleadings" when GA played SC. She got to take her picture with two cheerleaders and she was so happy! (Alabama just walked in while I was typing and said "Look, it's Jacey! I don't know the other one, I just know Jacey" when she saw this picture with the cheerleaders!)

She loves to have GA stickers on her face and was very proud to get one at the border bash.

She also wants "that boy" to hold her up like the boy cheerleaders did at the Border Bash. "That boy" is usually Adam but could be another boy...like Andrew the other day! She will wave her spirit fingers and say "Go Dawgs, Number One!!!" She's a natural!

We've also been to two Thomson football games and she doesn't really cheer a whole lot while we are there, but she is so excited to go, doesn't want to leave, and talks about it forever after the game! Oh, last week, Jacey was a THS cheerleader! "Mama, see Jacey?! See her blonde hair??!" haha! I don't have a picture but she has a THS bulldog shirt that I made her and she has to wear it to the games but was upset that I suggested she wear jeans with it...."Mama, cheerleadings not wear jeans, they wear skirts!" Oh, I'm sorry! What was I thinking???

Oh, I almost forgot, we also have Hairy Dawg, UGA, and sometimes T-Bone join us at these "games" at our house! Her imagination is beyond anything you could dream up!!!

A few random things

I wanted to post about a few things we've been doing lately and then I'm going to do a few separate posts about specific things that I want to share!

First of all, Alabama is cracking me up all the time! On Thursday, they had Dad's day at Preschool so Adam went in to work late. He wanted us to go eat breakfast at Waffle house. Well, while we were there, a man with a scruffy beard, a long ponytail, a ball cap, an orange work vest, and a dangly earring walks in. Alabama sees him and says in her mad voice "Hey! Pirates not 'posed to be at Waffle House!" hahaha. Thankfully he was not close enough to hear her, however she does say things in the store all the time that people can hear....such as..."Why that lady got crazy hair?" Oh, my goodness!
She also had to go to timeout at school for the first time last Thursday. She said she was making noises in the gym and waving her hands(I don't exactly know what happened, the teacher didn't tell me, just her!) but on Tuesday, I said, Alabama, did you go to timeout today? She said, "No, but Laura Lane did!"

We were in Wal-Mart a few weeks ago, and Alabama had on a dress (as usual!) and kept putting her feet up in the cart and "showing everybody what she's working with" so I told her to put her feet down because that's not lady like. She turns around and points at a woman walking by and says "That lady likes it!" haha!!!!

She also hates to get her feet dirty. I mean like, meltdown in the yard until you take her shoes off and clean them off. Adam told her that's what it's like living in the country! You can't be a country girl if you can't get a little dirty.

We went to see the Winnie the Pooh movie last month and she did really good! I didn't like it that much....the voices of the characters were different, and that really ruins it for me! ha! But hey,I still got to eat popcorn and M&M's!

We finally have a name for our new baby! We can't wait to meet....USRY PATE SMELTS! I've got about two and a half weeks until my due date. We are going to call him Pate and Alabama is so cute when she says his name! Love it!

1st Day of Preschool

Alabama started preschool this past week! I can't believe she is old enough to go to preschool. She's going to the same preschool that my sisters and I went to. She was going to be in the two year old class, but they asked to move her up to the three year old class so she will be going 3 days a week. I am praying that she loves it and learns a lot! Her teacher is Mrs. Anita and there are only 3 girls in the class besides her! :( Not so sure about that part! The first thing she told us when we picked her up Thursday was "That boy hit me in the head and pushed me down!" Not good.
She said she had a fun time though and can't wait to go back next week!!! I couldn't wait to go get her from school...I missed her and it was only 3 hours!

She has been looking forward to going for months now! She kept saying, "When I be big, I'm goin' to school?!" So on Tuesday she asked me if she was going to school today and I said, Yes, we're going to meet your teacher tonight! She got so excited and said, "I big now?" I told her yes, she is a big girl and is going to school. Then she asked "I brush my hair by myself?" She couldn't wait to wear her 'pack pack' and wanted to get a picture of it! ha!

Soo silly!!!

Sunday Funnies!

The imagination of Alabama is extreme to say the least! Many days, she pretends to be her cousin, Morgan. I have to call her Morgan, she walks up to me and says, "I'm Morgan." I say I know, then she tells me, "My Mama name is Georgia. My Daddy is Chris." I say okay, then she talks about the dogs. "There's Ginger. What's my big dog's name?" I tell her Jake. "Oh, okay. Where's Jake?" She takes the shelf out of her play refrigerator and uses it as the gate for the "dogs". She says, "Mama, you want to come see Ginger?" If I call her Alabama, she quickly tells me with the funniest and most serious look. "I not Bama, I Morgan." Oh, yeah....how did I forget. Well, this morning, she told everyone in the nursery that she was Morgan and her cousin's name was Alabama but she left her at home (this morning she was carrying around a crazy gymnastics doll my Nana gave her that she said was Alabama but I wouldn't let her it take to church!). Adam will usually tell her, "No, you're Alabama! I'm your Daddy, not Chris." She gets so upset and comes to get me to say I know she's Morgan! ha!

Alabama's favorite song right now (besides the ones she makes up herself which usually include "I lub you" over and over and over again) is Zaccheus but she calls it "Ikea!" ha!

We went to the open house at her preschool last week, and they had a whale by her name so she would know where to line up, sit on the rug, etc. So I was asking her to tell Mimi and Papa what animal she was and she wouldn't tell them. So my Daddy said, "Is it a goat?" She says, "Yeah, a goat!" Ever since then, everytime I ask her, she says it's a goat! Thanks a lot Papa!

Baby Update

Everything is going great with the little baby boy we are waiting to meet! I am starting to get pretty uncomfortable though...back pain, can't get comfortable, etc. We are still trying to decide on a name for him....7 weeks to go! We had a sonogram yesterday to see the "presentation" of the baby and Audra and Alabama went with me! I think they both were excited to see him. We got some good profile pictures of his face and the lady kept saying he has so much hair!!! I really wasn't concerned about him having lots of hair like I was with Alabama, because you can't really put a bow in a boy's hair! ha! Bama was happy that her baby brother "waved" at her on the screen! So cute! He was head down! :) And she said everything looked good. Dr. Serrano was a little concerned that my blood pressure was a little high so I have to go back in a week for a re-check. The room situation is making some progress...we are putting a final coal of paint on the "new" closet tonight so that Monday we can move shelves and clothes from the "old closet" to the new closet and then get to work on making that a nursery. (It really is a bedroom that I made into a closet when we moved in...I'm not sticking my baby in a closet! ha!) I have a lot of the decor items already but I am making a few more things and I still need to find a chest of drawers for his room.
Adam and I are going to Columbia tomorrow for a "babymoon"! ha! No, we are going on a marriage retreat with our Young Married Class at church and I can't wait! Some alone time with my hubby! Yay!

Sillinesss!

Here's a couple funny things I want to write down so I'll remember them!
After church Sunday, we were driving to Thomson and Alabama was singing a "song" about Pastor Bill. Went something like "Where's Patta Bill? Where's Patta Bill?" over and over to a melody she created. Then she says, "Why Patta Bill wear pants?" I said, "Well, what else would he wear?" "Jeans." haha! She notices everything!

When we're eating lunch sometimes, she asks me if I'm feeding her "baby bruder" so I tell her yes. Then, it's a million questions. "He like pizza?" "He chew it up?" and so on. There just is no simple answer for her!!!!

She gets so upset at inconsistencies. She makes this wrinkled eyebrow face and acts so upset. Like the other day, Adam told her that one of her elephants was a hippo and she almost cried! ha!

On Sunday morning, she took off both her shoes and socks while we were driving to church so I told her that she could not have a sucker after church. Devastating! So that night, she told me she took one of her shoes off and I said, "Alabama, you know you're supposed to leave your shoes on." She tells me this: "Mama, I know I not 'posed to do that. I trying to be a good girl! I put it back on." lol!

Driving with Jesus!

Alabama talks constantly when we are in the car, and today she was singing something over and over and over that wasn't really a song and I asked her to please stop talking until we got to Target. Then she says, " I can't sing?" Ahh, break your heart!
So I said "Yes, baby, you can sing, let's just sing a different song, okay. What do you want to sing?"
She says "Jesus loves Me." and she starts singing a mixture of Jesus loves Me and Joy in my Heart which sounds like this : "Jesus loves me in my heart, Jesus loves me in my heart, the Bible tells me so!" So I sing with her and then she wants to sing "Little David Play on your Harp" so we sing that. Then the questions begin! ha!
A: Mama, where's David?
Me: He's in the bible.
A: No, where he live?
Me: Well, he used to live a long time ago, but now he's in heaven with Jesus.
A: What's heaven (but sounds like Kevin)
Me: Heaven is where Jesus and God live. And the people who love Jesus will get to live there with Him one day!
A: Why?
Me: Because Jesus told us that He would go and prepare a place for us to live with Him forever!
A: Mama, what Jesus told me?
Me: (I repeat above sentence again) Then I tell her something like Jesus will come back and take us to live with Him one day or we will go to heaven when we die.
A: Where's heaven?
Me: Well, heaven is where Jesus is but you can't go there now. It's not someplace you can drive.
A: Jesus is going to drive us there? (ha!)
Me: No, we'll probably fly there with Jesus!
A: I'm going to have wings???
Me: Not exactly but something like that.
A: Mama, what you said?
Me: I said you were going to fly there with Jesus but we probably won't have wings!
Then, the picture changes to Jesus coming to her house.
A: Mama, Jesus coming to my house and take a nap?
Me: No, Jesus doesn't take naps. He doesn't have to sleep! (Trying to convey a sense of a powerful God that He's always there when you need Him!)
A: On the boat?
Me: Oh, yes, Alabama, Jesus did sleep on the boat and the disciples had to wake Him up because they were scared of the storm. You're right!

Wow this girl!!!! I didn't know I'd be having such deep conversations with a 2 year old! ha! So glad that she is interested in the things of God and praying that I have the wisdom to give her the answers she needs for her little mind at this time!

'Round here Lately!

Warning: Long Post Ahead! ha!

Well, we've been having such a fun summer but still a busy one!

First, I haven't ever written on my blog that we are expecting a baby boy in October! We are very excited but have a lot to do in these next 14 weeks...including choosing a name! I've been doing great and feel wonderful besides the restless legs and heartburn. He moves around all the time and it's so funny to see him move my whole belly! I'm not sure exactly what Alabama thinks about it but she knows that her "baby brother" is inside Mommy's belly...actually she says she's got a baby in her belly, too. ha!

We've been working a lot with my Daddy but that will probably slow down a lot in the coming weeks.

We've been to the Y several times to swim at the water park and have been to the park with our friends some, too.

We've been to the lake a few times. At first she didn't like the boat at. all. But now, she's getting more used to it and loves to go swim off the boat!

Adam and I took her to the movies for the first time a couple weeks ago. We went to see Cars 2 and she did great! She sat with me or Adam because she isn't heavy enough to hold the seat down and she didn't get up and want to walk around until the end. She loved eating the candy and the popcorn, too! The funniest part of the trip was the boy behind us. He was very loud and would laugh so hard! Alabama keeps copying him all the time and she will laugh really loud and then say "That's Hilawious!!!" like the boy did! It really is "hilarious" when she does it! hahaha!!!!

Our garden is now pretty much over now because it's been sooo hot, but we did have a few things we could eat out of it! We had a good bit of squash, some blueberries, a "mess" of green beans that were really good, about 6 ears of corn total, and we still may have a couple watermelons. This picture was back on May 27th.

Alabama has went with me to the doctor the past two visits and she's so funny when we go back there. She is full of one million and one questions every single day. And her response to every answer is always "why?"!!!! So at the doctor it sounds like this:

"Mama, why you laying on that table?" "Mama, why her put that lotion on you?" "That's my baby brother?" "Mama, why her cleaning you?" "Mama, you done now?" "Why?" haha! It's so funny!

She does this all day every day! My uncle says that is exactly what I did so it is payback! ha!

Alabama remembers EVE.RY.THING! She talks about things that happened soo long ago that I don't know how in the world she still remembers!

She also hears everything you say. If I say it different one time from the next she'll say, "Mama, what you told me?" ha!

She's still very shy but will sometimes talk to random people about the craziest stuff that they have no idea what she's talking about! Like the people who work at Wal-Mart say they like her pigtails and she goes into "I not go pee-pee here. I go pee-pee at my house. " ha! Then they tell her they have a bathroom she can use and of course she says "No, I go pee-pee at my house!" The reason she didn't want to go at Wal-mart is they have dryers aka 'chines (machines). She is so scared of the hand dryers so whenever we are out anywhere she'll ask if they have a dryer. If they do, then she doesn't really want to go in it, but if she has to then she'll say "I not use the dryer." "No, Bama, you don't have to." "You not either, Mama?" "No, I won't use it either." "Why?" ha! She starts looking around as soon as we step in the bathroom!

Alabama is also 100% potty trained now! She probably started wearing panties instead of pull ups everyday about the last week of May. She really has done sooo good and I'm so proud of her! She even sleeps in panties and hasn't had any accidents! A "funny" thing happened at the doctors office last week. She had to go potty when we got there but the way she was sitting on the potty she got some pee on her panties and bloomers before I knew what was happening so we had to go out to the car to get a new pair. I told her "It's okay, Alabama. It wasn't your fault. It was just how you were sitting on the potty." So now, she started saying "It's not MY fault!" Oh, goodness!

She also hasn't had her passy since I went to Hilton Head on June 17th for a women's retreat. They couldn't find it while I was gone (it was in the bag the whole time!)so she didn't have it and went to sleep without it. She still asks for it occasionally but we're passy free!!!!

She loves to play pretend and has the best imagination. Right now, a few of the things she likes the most is to play "boat" on the couch or the chair. She will usually drive and you have to sit in the boat and sometimes you're supposed to cry and sometimes you're not. Then she will ask for her lifejacket and swimsuit and put those on. Then she jumps in by holding her nose (what she saw her cousin Morgan do at the lake) and jump off the couch and roll in the floor. ha! Then most of the time, you have to jump in, too!

Her sense of humor is growing so much! She will tell things wrong just because she knows it's wrong and will make you laugh and correct her. Like she says that "red says go and green says stop" but she knows its the other way and says it to be funny! She will cook pretend food and drinks for you in her kitchen and bring it to you and tell you it has sand in it and then I drink some and spit it out and say Yuck! This has sand in it! and she just laughs and laughs!

I just love how fun she is right now!!! She is so sweet (most of the time!) and so funny and I just am so blessed to be her Mommy!

Tybee Part 2

Here's the second part to our Tybee Island trip. Friday, we went back to the beach again that morning then came home and rested a while. After Alabama got up from her nap, we just stayed around the house and waited for Adam to get there! We were sooo glad to see him! Adam's Daddy bought fresh shrimp, fish, and crab legs for dinner and we cooked it and had a FEAST! It was soooo good! The next day, we got up and took the pictures from the previous post then Adam and I took Alabama to the beach while everyone else went to the wildlife preserve or something that involved snakes. No thanks! She had a great time playing with her Daddy in the water and the sand. We put our chairs and umbrella and all sort of close to the water, and before we knew it, we were being washed away!!!! When we went back to the house, Alabama played "nail salon" with Daddy and pretend painted his nails before she took a nap.

I think she may have had more fun doing this than almost anything else on the trip! ha!

That night, Adam and I had a date night and the kids stayed at the house with Maxine. We went to a place called A.J.'s and it was amazing! We had to wait an hour for a table, but we had plenty of time to talk and it wasn't really that bad. It was well worth the wait! This is what it looked like when we sat down!

BEAUTIFUL!

For an appetizer we had the buffalo shrimp and they were amazing then I had the stuffed chicken and fries for my meal and it was all sooo good! I can't wait to go back!

It was such a treat to have some time with my sweet husband! When we got back to the house, they were all having a great time and had walked down to the dock. Alabama was being so silly and the cousins were all joining in with her cheerleading/falling down/singing/being absolutely crazy! We got it on video and it is soo funny!

We had to be out of the house by ten, so we packed up and headed to Savannah for a little while before we headed home. We went to the mall and the Bass Pro Shops and ate at a Texas Roadhouse which was very good. I almost liked it better than the Logan's Roadhouse we have here. It was a great trip and I'm so glad that we got to go and make some fun memories with family! Thanks Georgia for inviting us!

Tybee Island 2011

We took a fun vacation to Tybee Island with Adam's family on June 8-12th. We had a great time! Alabama and I went down on Wednesday with Jerry and Maxine. Georgia rented a house that she invited us all to come stay at and it was about 3 blocks from the beach. I was a little nervous about Alabama liking the ocean, but she loved it! She keeps saying "I need to go back!" We swam, made sandcastles, played in the sand, found sea shells, and I'm sure she also loved drinking Kool-Aid from Aunt Georgia! Here is her first time in the ocean checking it out. This is when she went with Grandma to the bathroom and they saw an ice cream cone that someone dropped in the sand. The girl talked about that for DAYS!

After the beach Wednesday, we came back to the house and cooked lasagna that I brought and ate supper then we went to go to some shops on the island but they were closed. So we found this super cute park! The kids loved it!

The next morning, we got up and ate breakfast and Georgia and I took the kids shopping in Savannah. Anna and Morgan and a friend, Kalynn got airbrush tattoos. We bought a few things and we also saw this neat little Echo Square where if you stand in the middle of it, you can hear your voice echo, but no one else can! Very neat! We went back to the house and ate lunch and Alabama took a nap while I read a book. That night, we went back to Savannah to meet my cousin, Jeff, and his girlfriend, Brooke. We ate at the Pirate House. Bad. Idea! The food was really good, but the real pirate inside was not! Alabama won't even let me tell people about it! ha! She was so scared! After we ate, we went down to River Street Sweets! We got a little fudge and some gummy butterflies then headed back to Tybee. It was good to see them, but wish we could have visited longer!

I'll post the second part in another post, but here are some family photo time pics! I've always wanted to do pictures on the beach and we all went down to the beach Saturday morning and took some. I think a few turned out really good, but Alabama was so NOT into taking pictures that morning! I don't really blame her, it was soo humid and I was sweating like crazy!
