Whirlwind trip to Panama City

This weekend, we took a crazy trip to see our family in Headland and go with them to the beach on Saturday. We left our house at 2:10 am and arrived in Headland at 7:30 am! We woke the family and they got ready to go to Panama City, about another 2 hours away.
We had a picnic with all the family then went to the beach. It wasn't much of a beach but the kids had fun anyway! We played in the sand and water and relaxed on the beach for a few hours.

We got cleaned up (complete with shampoo, conditioner, and washrags! ha!) at the beach shower, changed clothes and went to eat at Uncle Ernie's Restaurant on the Bay. It was overpriced, but had a really pretty view.

Adam was swinging with the kids while we waited on our food. Pate was of course really tired from no nap and the crazy drive the night before. I thought he would sleep the whole time, but he was awake all the way past Atlanta.
He tried on the bitty baby's hat!
Here's the family in the restaurant.
Alabama loving on her cousin, Katie Claire. Before we left home she said, "I hope Katie Claire remembers me!" ha! It was so funny when  we got to the picnic area Katie Claire went right up to Pate and talked to him and hugged him. He stood perfectly still and let her hug him but then right away came to me! It was so funny!
Even if we were soo tired and barely made it home awake, (we drove straight back Saturday night and arrived home at 4 am! I know!), it was so good to see all our cousins and visit for a few hours. Alabama stayed with Mimi and Nana and came back with them on Sunday. She had a great time, too! Especially painting Uncle Jerry's nails green with pink polka dots!

Sparklers

Alabama is soo very good at twirling in Sparklers and she loves it so much! She went to Sparklers this past year every Saturday morning and practices twirling every day, all day. She makes up her own routines and dances at home, but knows her routine so well for her performances.
She had her recital in May and I thought she did amazing. They twirled and did a routine with streamers, too. I'm so proud of her. She also went to Auxilliary Camp at the beginning of the summer and did probably 5-6 routines in the show. She seriously did so good on them all. She listens and follows directions so well and does really well for a four year old in her first year, I think! She didn't really like the camp because I think there were just so many girls there, but she said she loves her class on Saturdays.
* Every time we go by the high school, Pate tells me that Alabama twirls there with his baton motions. Ha!

Welcome to the Real World!

So, I finally have DSL again and I can do all the things normal people on the internet can! I can upload pictures, blog, download things, watch videos, etc. I just don't know what to do with myself! I think I'll catch up on some blogging from this summer! Yay!

Update: Well, maybe not! I still can not get pictures to load!!!!

Pate is 20 months

Pate you are 20 months old. You are growing so big! You wear 18-24 month clothes and size 5 shoes. You are so fun to play with! You love for someone to tickle you and will ask them to do it over and over again! You like to play with your sister and wrestle and play (until someone gets hurt!). You love trains and like to play with them but get frustrated when they won't stay together. You say "Whoo whoo" every time we go over the rail road tracks and then "uh -oh" when there's no train! ha! You also like to play with your trucks and cars and tractors. Your favorite places to push them is the table in the play room, the couch, and my bed. You spot tractors wherever you go and want me to look at them every time. You ask me to watch TV and like to watch Mickey, tractor shows, and Thomas. You are pretty picky about what you eat. You like spaghetti, strawberries, pouches, bananas, blackberries, chicken nuggets, yogurt, apple sauce, and love to sneak apple juice from Alabama's cup.
You say mama, Dada, Kah Kah, Papa, juju, ball, cup(p), golf cart, more, nana, georgia, and go dawgs! Maybe you will talk one day! Ha!
You are friendly, sweet, playful, mischievous, and all boy! You make mine and Alabama's day so fun!

Say What?

Alabama has the funniest way she says "Whaaaat?!" sometimes when we tell her something she's excited and surprised about and she laughs and smiles after she says it.

She also says "Cowashians" instead of "Colossians" in the books of the bible song, but I don't want to correct her because it's so cute!

She sings to Pate..."Pay Pay Brown, he's a clown. He's gonna get caught, just you wait and see. Why's everybody always pickin' on me?" Hilarious.

Adam and Pate got their hair cut yesterday.  This morning, she told me randomly, "I bet all of Daddy's friends are gonna say, 'Why'd you get your hair cut?!' when they see him."

That's not sweet!

Today, Alabama was whining about wanting breakfast. I told her that we'd already had breakfast. (I made smoothies with yogurt, milk, bananas, blueberries, and spinach) They loved them but now she says that was just a drink and she needs something to eat, too. I told her that I couldn't understand all that whining. She keeps whining so I start humming 'Jesus Loves Me'.  She keeps telling me I need some more breakfast, etc. Finally she says, "That's not sweet!!!!" I said, "Well, all that whining you're doing isn't very sweet." Then she says, "No, it's not very sweet to tell your child that they can't have any breakfast. That's what's not sweet!" Exact. words. ha! This girl....

17 Months

My sweet boy is 17 months old. Here's a few things you are up to now, Pate.
You love all things trucks and tractors. You can spot them and get so excited and point to them.
You have several tractor/truck books that you look at over and over. You raise your feet up and want to ride them even though it's just a book! ha!
You do love to ride the tractor/golf cart/lawn mower.
You like to see different animals but don't want to get close to any of them.
You don't say much besides Mama, Dada, uh-oh, and uhh. You will repeat some words after us, though like Papa, Kah Kah, Tay Tay, Ju-Ju, ball, cup (p), and golf.
You sign more, yes, no, bye, dog.
You fold your hands to say the blessing and its so cute!
You love to listen to much and dance.
You know your mouth, ears, head, hair, feet, nose.
You wear size 12-18 month clothes. A lot of your 12 month pants are getting too short.
You give sweet hugs and kisses. :)
You can pitch the worst fit and temper tantrums!
But you do the funnest "happy dance" when you get what you want! ha!
You are a climber...stairs, chairs, slides.
You have 5 teeth. (*Update: 4/17- you actually have 8 teeth that snuck in on me! two molars, three on the top front and three bottom front!)
You still take two naps most days and sleep 11-12 hours at night.
I love you soo, soo, much! You are such a boy and I am loving being your Mama more than I ever imagined! xoxo, Mama
